Steelers’ QB Ben Roethlisberger is out for the season with an elbow injury.

Roethlisberger’s was injured during the Steelers’ 28-26 loss to the Seahawks. Big Ben sat out most of the second half, you could see that he was in pain as grabbed he’s elbow with a look of pain on his face, but he still pushed on.
After the medical staff evaluated his injury, the Steelers were notified that Ben was “contemplating” whether to go under the knife or not, depending on further test results .
On Monday Coach Mike Tomlin released a statement that confirmed that Roethlisberger’s would have season-ending surgery.
“Ben Roethlisberger had an MRI on his right elbow Sunday evening and it was determined by the Steelers’ medical team that surgery will be required,” said Tomlin . “We expect the surgery will be scheduled for this week. He will be placed on our Reserve/Injured List and is out for the season.”
All the details involving Roethlisberger’s elbow has not came out yet, but sources told CBS Sports that the quarterback would have a surgery close to the Tommy John procedure, a surgery that many baseball pitchers have had to undergo.
