Top ten college quarterbacks for 2019

Ian book - notre dame

Last year Book’s had a great pocket presence and 68.2 percent accuracy that drove Notre Dame to the playoffs. He finished with 2,628 yards, 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions. If Book’s can get the Fighting Irish back to the playoffs and put up those numbers, then he may be in the Heisman race.

JORDAN LOVE - UTAH STATE

Love, a All-Mountain West selection after setting program records in passing yards (3,567) and touchdowns (32). Jordan was also named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week five times, and helped the Aggies win 10 consecutive games. If he has another year like that, then he should be in the running for that Heisman.

Justin Fields - Ohio State

                               Joshua Gunter, cleveland.com

Fields comes to Ohio State with high hopes of filling the shoes of Dwayne Haskins, which won’t be  easy. Fields has double threat play making ability, but if he needs to get Ryan Day’s offense down pat. If that happens, then Fields could get to hold that Heisman Trophy.

JALEN HURTS - OKLAHOMA

Alonzo Adams / USA TODAY Sports

This is Hurts final season at Oklahoma, the qustion is, is he NFL material? Jalen lost his spot to Tagovailoa and is now hoping to redeem himself with the Sooners. The  Sooners have had two consecutive Heisman winners, both former transfers, can Hurt’s be added to that list?  Hurts’ is good on his feet and is expected to lead the Big 12 statistically.

JUSTIN HERBERT - OREGON

                             Troy Wayrynen, USA TODAY Sports

Herbert’s passed on the NFL Draft for another  year with the Ducks was a bold move for himself and a God send for Oregon. He had 3,151 yards and 29 touchdowns to eight interceptions in 2018. He already has a very strong arm, but if Herbert can improve the accuracy of his passes, look out!

SAM EHLINGER - TEXAS

                             Stephen Lew, USA TODAY Sports

The Longhorns most valuable player, Ehlinger is a tough player and among college football’s best leaders.  He really shines when playing tuff competition, this sophomore racked up 41 touchdowns of his own. Don’t overlook Ehlinger because he’s one of the Power 5’s top players.

Jake fromm - georgia

                     Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

23-5 as a starter, led the Bulldogs to back-to-back appearances in the SEC championship game, totaled 54 touchdowns and 13 interceptions the last two seasons, and maintained the same 9.0 yards per attempt. These are decent numbers, but with Georgia revamping their receiving unit this season, Fromm’s numbers may get even better.

D'ERIQ KING - HOUSTON

                            James Guillory/USA TODAY Sports

King suffered a torn meniscus and underwent successful surgery in November, an injury that ruined the Cougars’ season and might have cost their  head coach his job. Before his injury, King had 50 touchdowns from 36 passes, and 14 rushes.(He was leading in total touchdowns before the injury) If D’Eriq returns healthy, Houston could have a hell of a season ahead of them.

Tua Tagovailoa - Alabama

                    Ric Tapia/Associated Press

Last season Tagovailoa completed over 68 percent of his passes, while earning 10.7 yards per attempt. He also threw 54 touchdowns, while only turning the ball over eight times. Tua Tagovailoa is sharp both physically and mentally, and known for his anticipation and willingness to get the ball to open receivers is almost unrivaled.

One of the best players in college football, Tagovailoa made most defenses look lame. With top notch  accuracy and ball placement, he’s game has few weaknesses. But there is one more QB that may be even better then Tua.

Trevor Lawrence - clemson

                    Richard Shiro/Associated Press

Trevor Lawrence is the real deal Holyfield! He has extraordinary talent with more power on his passes than Tua Tagovailoa and matching accuracy to all other attributes on the field.

The 6’6″, 215-pounder is a double threat  who can make any offense better . Lawrence has proven himself in the clutch, and has completed many difficult, and contested sideline throws, and he hits them with more efficiency than even Deshaun Watson.

There is no doubt that Clemson immediately performed better when Lawrence took the reins from Kelly Bryant.Trevor and Tagovailoa will probably go back and forth as the favorites for the 2019 Heisman Trophy.
