CoppaFeel! x Vans' design footwear for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Vans collaberated with CoppaFeel! in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month for a limited-edition footwear collection. This collab includes an Sk8-Hi trainer, two low-top Slip-Ons , an Era, and a slide silhouette.
This collection was setup to “educate youth on checking their breasts and early detection.” It also meant to bring out “the beauty and strength of those impacted or touched by breast cancer,” according to an official press release.
All the designs come with different breast illustrations which represent a number of breasts and nipples detailed in different shades. Located in the UK, CoppaFeel! is a breast cancer awareness charity who promotes early detection and encourages the young generation to know and understand their bodies. $200,000 USD of the proceeds will go to the organization.
First up out of the collab is the Vans Sk8-Hi which comes with a hand-drawn illustrations, along with a black upper and white midsole. Second is the checkerboard Slip-On with different shades of light cream, brown and white, with more educational drawings on the midsole. The Slip-Ons arrive in black with the phrase “YOU GOT THIS” on the front of the shoe. The Era has a cream colorway with the designs in a blue tint. And last the slide comes in white and features the same style as the Sk8-Hi.
Kris Hallenga, founder of CoppaFeel!, had this to say about the company’s venture with Vans:
“For our charity, this collaboration with Vans is a dream come true. We are thrilled for the opportunity to spread our message across Vans’ audience, as this partnership will allow us to tell more people why checking their boobs is so important, and in return, save lives. CoppaFeel! exists to stamp out the late detection of breast cancer by educating everyone – girls, boys and non-binary pals about their boobs and encourage them to get anything abnormal checked out.”
