Can Master P Get On The Same Level As Kanye                           In The Shoe Biz

Can Percy Miller a.k.a Master P get the Moneyatti shoe line on the same level as Kanye’s Yeezy empire? Master P has the cash and street cred but does he have the mind of a true designer like Kanye. Moneyatti shoes are luxury sneakers that are handcrafted in Italy with premium leather and are priced at $284.

Moneyatti has already earned street cred from the sneakerhead culture, even celebrities and pro-athletes have started wearing the brand. Also a percentage of every Moneyatti sneaker sold goes to providing inner city kids  with educational resources and programs to help build their futures.

In the late-’90s Converse gave P a shoe deal, the All Star MPs. The Converse/No Limit basketball shoe was designed by Master P.  A free five-track disc featuring Master P, Silkk the Shocker and Magic performing basketball-inspired songs came with a pair, as a limited time offer.

He also did a collab with Wooter Apparel to create  the clothing line Medusa, which was inspired by the mythical creature Medusa, you know the one with snakes for hair.

                              Getting Into The NBA

During the 1998–99 NBA lockout Miller was a preseason invitee to the Charlotte Hornets training camp. As part of the NBA’s initiative to lure back fans following the  lockout, the Hornets held a free inter-squad scrimmage at the Charlotte Coliseum on Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999.

In 16 minutes of play time, Master P had 9 points on 3-6 shooting, 4 assists, 2 rebounds, and 1 turnover in 83-77 win over the opposing team. The Charlotte Hornets cut Master P on Feb. 1, 1999, four days before the first game of the season.

“THE GM, BOB BASS, CALLED ME IN AND SAID, ‘YOU CAN PLAY. YOU ARE A HELLUVA BASKETBALL PLAYER, BUT YOUR MUSIC IS PURE FILTH AND IT’S A BIBLE BELT CITY.’ AND THEY LET ME GO.” Master P

In a 2017 interview Miller told TMZ that he was considerd for a coacing staff job with the New Orleans  Pelicans.

Maybe he’s dream of becoming a NBA player or coach never happened, but how about creating the next Jordan type brand. Master P offered Zion Williamson(Below) the #1 pick in this years NBA Draft a 20 million dollar shoe deal, and a role in the movie “I Got The Hook up 3”.

If he lands a deal with Zion, that could put him on a whole new level in the sneaker business. Also during several interviews Miller has talked about making a tribute sneaker for ex NBA legend Dominiqe Wilkens, nothing has happened yet.

                             One Big Difference

So you may or may not have heard that Master P does not own Moneyatti shoes out right. There is a website called AliveShoes, were anyone can design a shoe and they will make it for you.

If the shoe that you design actually sells, you will get 30% from each sell. Now supposedly that’s how Master P started and designed Moneyatti shoes. These videos below were posted about a month ago, check it out for yourself and see what you think.

Personally I could careless, either way the shoes are selling, and Miller is getting to that bag. But can Moneyatti get on a Yeezy level without the backing of a huge company like Adidas, I guess we will just have to wait and see. Does it bother you that Master P started Moneyatti like this, leave a comment below and tell me how you feel about it.
