An Employee’s Great Grandmother’s Original Patterns Inspire the 10th Nike N7 Collection

Nike graphic designer Tracie Jackson has brought her cultural influence from her childhood years to the 10th anniversary  N7 collection. Her great-grandmother Phoebe Nez instilled weaving techniques of the Tsi’naajinii into Jackson, you can see this through the entire pack with the storm patterns that they both know so well.

Each shoe contains Native & Navajo culture weaved into it, starting with the Air Moc,  suede leathers and strips surrounding the entire upper. The Air Zoom Pegasus 36 keeps the same layout, just swaps out for the weaved upper.

The Air Force 1  has brown overlays and yellow swooshes on the side panels, and the Air Jordan 8 comes in grey with chenille logos. And last the Zoom Heritage comes with grey suedes with pastel red swooshes showing hand-sewn spots on the midsole.

This new collection hits retailers and Nike.com this week on November 7th, take a look and some pics below before you leave.
