Barrett Repping Puma

RJ Barrett has officially signed his first multiyear sneaker deal with Puma.

Puma confirmed the signing by unveiling a “NY hearts RJ” mural in the city, which featured the Puma logo on top of a heart.

Barrett broke the freshman scoring record for Duke with 33 points and six assists in his  debut against No. 2 Kentucky during the Champions Classic. R.J was teammates with Zion Williamson who recently signed a deal with Jordan brand worth $75 million, making it the biggest rookie deal to date.

New York selected Barrett with the No. 3 pick in the 2019 NBA draft. During R.J’s rookie shoot he teased us by wearing puma’s, but nobody knew that at the time.

Puma released this statement: “We are thrilled to have RJ join the Puma family as we enter our second season of Puma Hoops,” said Adam Petrick, Puma Global Director of Brand and Marketing. “He’s obviously an incredible talent and we’re proud that he’s bringing his bold personality to our brand. We’re especially pleased to have a young, game changing athlete in New York—the home of Walt ‘Clyde’ Frazier, and Puma Hoops. We look forward to a strong partnership with him and a fantastic rookie season ahead.”

Barrett hungout in the streets of Manhattan and served up hot dogs and T-shirts to fans in celebration of the deal.
