Three Designers Reimagine the Campus 80 for adidas's Maker's Lab
adidas‘s Maker’s Lab and three designers, Alex Nash, Helen Kirkum and Shun Hirose from Japanese boutique Recoture have created 3 truly uniqe versions of the Campus 80.
Nash chose to go all out, creating a earth and neon toned dual-layered upper. He took notes from the adidas EQT-style midfoot stripes, you can see rope laces coming out of the heel, and a giant red strap withbig and bold adidas branding.
Kirkum chose to go with a unfinished look, with natural tones and creating a vintage style. A size tag is stitched on the toebox, loose threads can be seen on the doubled-up quarter panel graphic, a bouble tongue design, rough-cut rubber on the midsole. The heel piece can also be removed to display branding.
And for the third creation Hirose took a more practical approach, by mixing jet black, sharp grey, navy, and burgundy tones for a clean patchwork look, the white branding and stitching really pop in contrast to the other colors. Other details include lowering the lateral quarter panel down into the midsole, the tongue stiched to the upper, and adding an extra set of the eyestays.
The entire collection will arrive via open-market auction on StockX later this month. Each style is limited to only 333 pairs. Don’t forget to scroll through the pics at the top of the page, and check out the other two below.
